In the St Albert history book, The Black Robe's Vision, there is no clear separation between the St Albert Mission and Big Lake Settlement. In the book, there is a note that explains that the name Mista-Sakahikun is the "Cree name for Big Lake Settlement (St Albert)" [BRV 25].
Please comment your views, and what you know on this subject. More information on the settlement of the first poeple in St Albert and how it was named can be found in this section from The Black Robe's Vision.
